Toronto Health Libraries Association Journal Club
Type: Cross-institutional

Membership: Anyone interested in reading and discussing health librarianship and research is welcome to attend.
Focus: Founded in 2014, journal club occurs every other month. The evening is chosen by the volunteer who selects the article and leads the discussion. THLA members who attend some or all Journal Club meetings will receive MLA accredited CE hours for their attendance at the end of each calendar year. Each meeting is held in a restaurant in the downtown Toronto area. We aim to meet near transit and where there are options for a variety of diets (vegetarian, medical diets, etc.).

Bryant University Physician Assistant Journal Club

Focus: The Bryant University Physician Assistant Journal Club was founded in 2017 and is intended for all students and faculty members in the Bryant PA program. The club meets every 5 weeks and relies on student presentations on emerging research.

Children’s & Teen Literature Journal Club

Focus: The journal club at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh is a newly formed group (2017). We will be discussing how children with disabilities are portrayed in children’s and teen literature as well as new authors and books. The membership is internal at this point and will consist of two librarians as well as staff members in the Day School and Therapeutic Activities department.
